Primary Scholarship Result 2026

The Primary Scholarship Exam (প্রাথমিক বৃত্তি পরীক্ষা) is a national-level competitive exam for Class 5 students completing primary education. It is conducted by the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Schools nominate up to 40% of their enrolled Class 5 students to sit for the exam. The distribution follows a strict 50:50 male-to-female ratio and an 80% Government / 20% Private school quota.

Scholarship winners receive both a monthly stipend and a one-time annual grant — disbursed directly through the Government-to-Person (G2P) digital payment system. The benefit runs for 3 full years, covering Class 6, 7, and 8.

Scholarship Quotas and Stipend Details

The DPE circular distributes 82,500 total scholarships across two categories with strict allocation rules. Every seat is split by gender, school type, and geographic quota to ensure nationwide fairness. Distribution maintains a 50:50 male-to-female ratio and an 80% Government / 20% Private school split.

The Primary Scholarship is not a one-time prize. It is a structured three-year financial support programme that runs through Class 6, 7, and 8. Your child receives two types of payments every year:

CategoryMonthly AllowanceOne-time Annual GrantDuration
Talentpool300 BDT225 BDT3 Years (Class 6–8)
General225 BDT150 BDT3 Years (Class 6–8)

Who Will Get the Talentpool Scholarship?

The Talentpool scholarship is awarded to the highest scorers at the national and Upazila level. Selection is based purely on merit ranking within each Upazila — no quota adjustments apply at this tier.

A total of 33,000 Talentpool scholarships will be awarded in 2026:

  • Government Schools: 27,500 students
  • Private Schools: 5,500 students

Students on the Talentpool list receive a higher monthly allowance of 300 BDT plus an annual grant.

Who Will Get the General Scholarship?

The General scholarship is allocated based on union and ward-level quotas, with the strict 50:50 male-to-female ratio enforced at each administrative unit.

A total of 49,500 General scholarships will be distributed in 2026:

  • Government Schools: 41,250 students
  • Private Schools: 8,250 students

General scholarship recipients receive 225 BDT monthly plus a 150 BDT annual grant — disbursed through the same G2P system for the full three-year duration.

What to Do After the Result

Finding your child’s name on the result list is a big moment — but the stipend does not arrive automatically. You need to complete one registration step, and it is easy to miss if no one tells you about it.

DPE distributes all scholarship payments through the Government-to-Person (G2P) system, which means the money goes straight from the government into your child’s registered mobile wallet or bank account. No school handles the cash. No office visit is required after registration. But the system only works if the student’s details are correctly submitted first.

Here is exactly what parents need to do:

  1. Collect your child’s Digital Birth Certificate (online-verified copy from bdris.gov.bd)
  2. Prepare your own National ID Card (NID) as the parent or legal guardian
  3. Open a Mobile Financial Service (MFS) account such as Nagad or bKash, or a bank account in the student’s name
  4. Submit all three documents to your child’s Head Teacher at school
  5. The Head Teacher completes registration through the DPE portal on your behalf
